The Best Time to Study: What I Learned From My Own Experience

What is the best time to study? Early morning, daytime, or night? Here is what I learned from my own experience.

Best time to study, how to study better, study tips, how to focus while studying, study at night, study early morning

Many people ask me, “What is the best time to study?” I tried studying early in the morning, in the day, and at night. To be honest, every one of them felt a little odd at first. So here is what I learned.

Train Your Mind First

The time is not the main thing. Your mind is. To study well, you need to get your mind ready first. If your mind is ready, you can study at night, in the early morning, or in the day.

Switching between times also works. You do not have to stick to one.

Choose the Time That Works for You

These days it is hard to study at the exact same time every day. Life is busy. So do not stress about it. Just pick the time when you are free, or the time when you are good at studying, and study then.

Take Care of Your Body

Your brain is the main thing, and your body needs to support it. So eat good food. Eat whatever suits you.

For me, caffeine helps me stay alert. But everyone is different, so do what suits you best.

Drink water too. Take small sips while you study. Coffee or tea is fine if it works for you.

Be Careful With Snacks

Snacks can be a distraction themselves. Sometimes your mind tricks you. It says, “Grab something to eat, then you will study.” But it ends up doing the opposite. You feel sleepy or lazy after eating. It all depends on what you eat, so choose wisely.

Avoid Distractions Completely

This is the most important point. If you have distractions, you will end up staring at your screen or book with no idea what to do.

Distractions can be:

  • Your phone
  • Scrolling on any screen
  • The people sitting around you
  • Food

Stay far away from all of them while you study.

Night or Morning?

If you live with family, studying in the day can be hard because there are many distractions. At night, after 12, everything becomes quiet and you can focus.

I also noticed that if you stay up until 5 am, your brain works better in the morning. But do not do this if you have an exam in the morning.

Believe in Yourself

Most of all, believe in yourself. Get your mind ready, stay away from distractions, and study at the time that works for you. You can do it.
